      <image:title>Behavioral Gerontology - Healthy and Purposeful Aging.</image:title>
<image:caption>Gerontology is the study of aging across the lifespan, particularly as related to social, physical, psychological changes for a person. Behavioral Gerontology is the application of behavior analytical approaches to the changes a person experiences as they age to promote healthy and purposeful aging. At Crescent Behavioral Health, we believe that aging should be a proactive, pleasurable, self-directed part of a persons life. Achieving this includes a look beyond behavioral presentations and treatment of medical diagnoses but must include a global approach to a person that addresses all facets of their biological, psychological, and social systems.</image:caption>

      <image:title>Behavioral Gerontology - Dementia Care.</image:title>
<image:caption>Dementia care, specifically the management of dementia behaviors, is a leading area of need for families and caregivers of those with this diagnosis. Recent Medicare regulations have highlighted this area by indicating a need for non-pharmacological interventions to address dementia behaviors. Behavioral gerontology is an evidenced-based approach to dementia care that can assist with management of dementia related behaviors. Intellectual disabilities and dementia is an area of need that is widely known to families and loved ones within this community. Crescent Behavioral Health has worked with this population to provide support to families, training to direct support professionals, and individualized programming to assist with all stages of the diagnosis.</image:caption>

      <image:title>Behavioral Gerontology - Long-term Care.</image:title>
<image:caption>For those people moving to and living in long-term care communities the changes to their social systems, psychological health, and physical health can be primary concerns for themselves, families, and caregivers. A holistic approach, which includes physical, emotional, social, and spiritual well-being can provide a global approach that provides greater benefit at this stage of their lives. Crescent Behavioral Health uses this holistic approach to address behavioral gerontology and go beyond the behavioral presentations of medical diagnosis to provide support and care for concerns impacting the quality of life of older persons.</image:caption>
