Behavior Analysis

Behavior Analysts (BCBAs)

Behavior analysts examine the behavior of people with the goal of improving existing skills or teaching new skills to increase the occurrence of desired behaviors while decreasing behaviors that are barriers to quality of life for a person. Most commonly, behavior analysts work with individuals with intellectual disabilities or children with pervasive developmental disorders (PDD). Applied Behavior Analysis, the fundamental approach used by behavior analysts, is an evidenced-based approach focusing on various functional skills such as, communication, social skills, daily living tasks, and leisure skills.

At Crescent Behavioral Health, we apply a holistic approach to behavior analysis by incorporating the Biopsychosocial model into our fundamental approach to care. The biopsychosocial model looks at the interconnected nature of a person through biological, psychological, social, and environmental domains.

A Board-Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) is a graduate-level (or higher) certification that indicates a minimum standard of achievement in Applied Behavior Analysis has been met through education, experience, and testing.
